Hi everyone!

My name is Hugh Simonich.

I'm a Board Certified and Licensed Behavior Analyst in Texas. I’ve spent years working with adolescents and adults facing intellectual disabilities, autism, mood and personality disorders, and complex combinations of these as a Lead Behavior Analyst for the Austin State Supported Living Center with HHSC of Texas.

My specialty within ABA is integrating my practice with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Relational Frame Theory (RFT) along with both the principles and practices of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to provide a more holistic and successful approach for better outcomes.

I've been a long time professional member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), where I am the current co-lead of the ACT/RFT in ABA SIG and the past-president of the Contextual Philosophy of Science SIG.

I have provided a number of statewide presentations to many other clinicians and professionals within the HHSC system regarding how to best integrate ACT and RFT within ABA.

On a personal note, I practice daily meditation and yoga to ensure that I 'm also taking care of myself so I can be present and helpful within individual and group sessions.  Anyone is able to join me either in-person or online each day so we can help each other build and maintain healthy living habits for ourselves so that we can be there for those we love.  It's free and anyone who wishes to participate can do so. Just go to the Event Calendar and RSVP for any event that interests you.

As you will see, this kind of daily practice is aligned with my personal values and commitment to improve quality of life for myself and for those I serve.
